Apple Pie cupcakes

the truth is...
I typically make about 3 1/2 dozen cupcakes.per.weekend.
2 dozen for work
some for neighbors
friends & family
and of course the hubs. love.

making THAT MANY apple cupcakes yesterday just was not do-able.
they do take longer to frost and dip, and frankly I didn't have enough mint leaves...
so I decided to do a more grown up apple cupcake too.

Spice cake mix
+ 1 tablespoon cinnamon
+ 1 teaspoon nutmeg

fill with apple pie filling
{see below}

top with my normal buttercream frosting
(i made a double batch because I used this on both sets of cupcakes)
3 sticks unsalted butter
6 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

I ate this one for breakfast yesterday! delish!

Apple Cupcakes

I don't know about you guys...
but in Henry County we are finishing up our first week of school.

So in celebration of our niece Hannah completing her first week of Kindergarten
I think we should have apple cupcakes!

Super cute, and easy to make.
these are vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting

I used pretzel sticks for the stem
fresh mint for the leaves
and brown jimmys for the seeds

Tomorrow, I'll share the other apple cupcakes I made.
A little more grown-up version
apple pie!

On a side note:
for my first 5 who requested whales...
they mailed out yesterday. Be on the lookout!
Don't forget to share your pictures!

I can not believe that summer is almost over.
I have mixed emotions.
I hate this heat, but I love playing in the pool.

This month's shadow box makes me feel like summer could stay forever.

I love the grey of the whales. and the sparkle of the water shooting up.

I mentioned last month that I would be willing to send out the paper punches.
I've had 2 people email me already asking about August
{sorry I was a few days late}

So, if you want to make your own shadow box
just shoot me an email
pamela {dot} eaton {at} gmail {dot} com

I'll only take the first 5 responses this month,
and we'll see how much interest there is.

If you make one please share!! I would love to see it!

Addicted to Etching

I just posted last week about etching some starbucks bottles...missed it? {here}

I have quickly become addicted to etching.
Looking all around the house for more glass I can put a mark on.
Shotglass. picture frame. someone stop me!
{but not before I show you these last projects}

I purchased this table of goodies at goodwill/salvation army for less than $8.
i know. score!

After I got my little etching hands on them:

{hi shanna. guess who i made that pitcher for? hehe}

I've been looking for a mug-tree.
you've seen these before right?

google images

sometime last month I saw this idea on someones blog
I'm sorry I don't remember where
but if it was you, please let me know so I can credit the idea!

It is the perfect ribbon holder. i heart it.

I only need about 4 more and I'll be able to store all my ribbons! haha

If you believe in the little man, small towns and big flavor...

and of course if you live in lower Atlanta...
you should check out the JailHouse Brewing Company in Hampton!

We went for a tour/tasting on Saturday night with Austin & Emily.
It was our first time touring a brewery. Seriously fun.

{the hubs is growing a sweet stache}

Then we headed to dinner...
more Jailhouse beer at Chevy's on the square...
and back to A&E's for wii.
{I may or may not have pulled a leg muscle perfecting my bowling}

{gotta make sure you represent}

And lots of puppy play time with Jules. love.

How was your weekend?
