Valentine's Day Decorating

I kinda skipped over winter and headed straight to Valentines Day around here.

a few red paper doilys from the dollar section at Target...
a mini pompom garland for the Christmas tree that is still in the kitchen...
some paper letters in a very loving phrase...
and an updated chalkboard.

does it make anyone else happy that this was all less than $4?

I also have plans to do this...
Martha always has the best ideas!

 and what about a Valentine snack for Cole...

You diggin' my new design? I am so in love with it!
Big thanks Franchesca at Small Bird Studio
(she did my previous design as well)

I will be busy updating my new tabs and making things a little more navigation friendly.
I look forward to sharing our life with you in 2011...

Hello Kitty Cupcakes

I had a client this week who requested Hello Kitty Cupcakes.
(yes, client... I get goosebumps when I use that word in reference to cupcakes because I have only within the past couple months started taking actual orders. I have had 9 "jobs" in the past 2 months and it has been wonderful. I don't always post pictures because sometimes it is very late when I am finished but I have felt so blessed for the opportunity to share my little creations with people I care about. I am currently in the "portfolio" stage and am only taking very local and very willing customers... these jobs often come with the disclaimer "I've never done that before, so I may jack it up"  haha! I will keep you all posted on how things are going.)

on to the cupcakes...
Miss Mallory is turning 5 this weekend!

snow day to the 2nd power

If you are new here you may not know that we live in the great state of Georgia...
 a little south of Atlanta to be a little more specific.

{food coloring in a spray bottle}

We recently had quite a snowpocalypse...
inches and inches of snow dumped on some rather unsuspecting Georgians.

we act like total psychos when it snows here
buying out all the generaters from walmart, driving like nascar drivers and totaly raiding the grocerystore of bread, milk and eggs. (and maybe oreos, beer, and hotdogs too)

these are actual pictures from my facebook friends....
 {yea, that's the line completely wrapped around the store}

and this one is from a local news channel...
{people we're abandoning their cars and walking away}

We had had a fun 2 days snuggled down at home...
a little snow time and lots of hot chocolate and movies on the sofa.
Hubs even cooked some delicious hot dogs on the grill.

I think we may be on an abbreviated schedule tomorrow, most of the schools are closed again, but the roads are getting better. I'd actually be happy to go in...
got quite the case of cabin fever.

If you are from around here I'd love to see your snowpocalypse pictures...
and for everyone else... go ahead and laugh. We know we are crazy. We know you drive to work and school in 4 times as much snow. But hey, a snow day is a snow day! :)
