the zoo

this week my favorite 4 year old is on spring break. we tagged along with his friends from school for lunch at Tin Lizzy's and a trip to the zoo! it was durham's first time to the zoo, and we've been practicing our animal sounds in anticipation of the trip. Jackson was our little tour guide. with his map in hand we saw flamingos, the boy lion and the girl lion, a huge elephant taking a stinky mud bath, monkeys, birds, lemurs, zebras, giraffes, snakes and my favorite the pandas. we rode the zoo train too, which was probably the highlight of durham's day (dinosaur train obsessed over here). it was hot and stinky but the boys were sooooo good and had a blast. so thankful for them and their sweet little spirits.

on a side note, bestie is rocking the 2 kids thing. I'm running around like a ding-dong chasing my i.only.want.to.walk.screw.this.stroller. kid making sure he doesn't get babynapped, and she's behind me taking pics of us on her iphone, watching jackson, and nursing her 1month old in her sling. so yeah, rocking it. beautifully.

all iphone pics.

Easter 2013

Happy Easter!
I hope you had a day full of Jesus and Family, food and fun, too much candy and cranky babies that skipped naps. ok, maybe not that last one. haha. Easter is a time of celebration . We celebrate that Jesus not only died on the cross for our sins, but he rose and HE LIVES!

As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.  "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' " Mark 16

We got up and let d see what the bunny brought! He was less than thrilled. haha. had homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then met my inlaws for church. It was Durham's first time in children's church, I stayed for the first half and he had a great time with his cousin ava and meme.

We celebrated Easter and spent time with family all afternoon... we binged on food and family gossip. we played pingpong, had a huge Easter egg hunt, laughed and let the kids get crazy! I missed getting to see my family... my dad is on the Appalachian trail and went to a sun-rise service on the mountain. I can't wait to hear about it!
