Egg Carton Cupcakes

I picked up these ADORABLE blue plastic egg cartons from Michaels about a week ago... 

they are the perfect size for mini cupcakes.

I'm headed back to get any more they may have.

love them for spring, and love them for Easter

Catching you up...

it's not that I've been away on a tropical vacation for the past 7 days...

or that anything BIG has been happening around here...

Super quick re-cap of the past 7 days.

Thursday:

BFF texts "can you be at my house in 30 minutes?"

well, duh. yeah.

She had heard that the elephants from the B&B circus were gonna be eating lunch at Olympic park... so we took Jackson up to see them. COOLEST THING EVER! We also went to the actual circus with our niece and nephew. Ethan loved the circus!

 

Friday: 

I worked all day...

Then I met up with a few old friends (Hi Lauren, Hi Vicky) to judge the Calendar Girl competition at a local high school. We had a blast. All the girls were so beautiful, and so confident it was ridiculously hard to choose the winners. So proud of all their hard work.

Saturday:

I worked all day...

One of my associates talked some girl scouts into coming by the store to sell us all cookies! I may or may not have bought like 12 boxes. at least its for a good cause! My favorite are the Somoas... what about you?

Then it was my favorite date night! Pizza & a movie night! Whoop! We've seen a ton a great movies lately, I'll try to recommend a few next week...

Sunday:

I was off work so the hubs and I headed down to High Falls state park to hike around and enjoy this amazing weather we've been having. I forgot my camera... grrrr, but when we go back I'll be sure to take it because that place is awesome. There is a old grain mill there that is all run down and beautifully shabby... I just loved it. 

On our way home from the park, we stopped at Verizon and got my new cellphone... i heart it. Thanks for all the info about your current phones.

even cole loves it... haha

I ended up with the droid, mostly because it is on the 4G network, and the iphone 4 is only on the 3G (the new iphone 5 that comes out this summer will be on 4G) and for the slide out keypad.  Anybody on words with friends? Find me! pamreagan AND, if you have an andriod phone... recommend your favorite apps.

Monday:

Cleaned house and washed clothes... then off to work.

Tuesday: 

Worked...

I tryed to do the "10 on Tuesday" where you take 10 pictures... but, my life at work is not very interesting and I can't be whipping my camera out all day... here are a few...

 

Then we find out that one of our neighbors had their house broken into... and their truck stolen from the driveway. This sketches the hubs out. (so thankful for a hubs that is all about protecting the momma of his doggie) We head to a local store to buy some protection... we come out of said store and our SUV wont crank.

::shakes fist in air::

Father in law to the rescue, and now we are good as new. Some wire had come undone. thankyouGod.

Wednesday:

Breakfast and some much needed girl time in ATL with a sweet friend...

Then work all afternoon...

Thursday: (yeah, today)

Catching up on the blog... and cleaning up around the house.

Hopefully lunch/playtime with my favorite 2 3/4ths year old and then off to work again...

I've got 2 cupcake orders this weekend, a craft date with Kelly on Saturday, dinner with my brother's fam, and my parents, and I think we'll head to the driving range on Sunday. I promise I will get caught up on everyone's recent happenings this weekend too. I've been missing you all so much and I can't wait to see what's been going on!

President's Day Cupcakes

I wanted to share these cupcakes before the weekend so you would be able to celebrate president's day with some sweets!

Washington's Birthday is a United States federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of George Washington, the first President of the United States.

You've probably all heard that story about Washington chopping down his father's prize cherry tree. However, historians now say that the story is just that. a story. It's been used to illustrate Washington's honesty and moral uprightness for over two hundred years. True or not, it sticks out in my mind... and I wanted to reward Washington and his honesty with some cupcakes!

Cherry Vanilla Cupcakes

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter (room temp)
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs (room temp)
2 teaspoons vanilla 

1/2 cup milk

about 30 cherrys (pitted and cut in quarters)

toped with my signature buttercream frosting 

and a chocolate covered cherry. yum.yum.yum.

In some exciting gadgety news... it's time for my cell phone upgrade! Whoop! (my blackberry has seen much better days...) We'll be "test driving" a few this weekend, trying to decide between the droid 2 and the iphone. thoughts?

we celebrated on Sunday night.

the hubs cooked dinner: Chicken Marsala

it.was.amazing.

Then on the ACTUAL valentine's day we exchanged hugs and kisses 

and ate zaxby's on TV trays in the living room. classy. i love it.

Seriously ladies... yall are too kind. I really enjoy reading your blogs and I am feeling all kinds of honored. I think I'm supposed to tell you 10 random facts about myself... and then pass this along to like 30 more people... but I'm defiant! haha! I make my own rules around here!

1. I LOVE diet coke. regular coke discusts me.

2. moonlight path smells like moth balls, but sometimes I tell customers I like it just to make the sale.

3. I am turning 29 in a month and it is by far the scariest bithday yet.

4. I am intensely competitive, and as a result I generally choose not to compete against friends so as not to be The Asshole Friend. 

5. My mind works best when I multitask. I am a habitual planner. 

6. I mom-arm my pocketbook in the car when I'm driving recklessly.

7. yes. I call my purse a pocketbook, and a cart a buggy... and lots of other southern stuff like yall, possum, and caramel (pronounced car-ml). And God help the lady at starbucks if she corrects me.

8. I'm a font whore.

9. I'm constantly riddled with guilt. over everything. ie: I forgot to get papertowls at Publix and now were out... I'm the worst wife ever. ugh.

10. I consider future baby names while picking out nail polish colors. Some recent finds: Alpine, Delhi, Volt, and Eiffel. I'm serious.

I seriously can't select such a small number of awesome blogs (hello, from the 300 in my reader). You are all amazing. I am constantly inspired and super-charged by the things you do. Some from the crafts and the baking, some from the photography, some from the beautiful simplicity of everyday life, some from the spiritual things you so bravely share. I am a BIG fan of YOU. So take these awards and post some fun facts about yourself. I want to know all that weird stuff! haha

Happy Valentine's Day 2011

My sweet valentine and I are celebrating 5 years together this year!

Sometimes it feels like yesterday and sometimes it feels like forever....

either way, it's the best and I know I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

 and.... just a few interesting things I recently found out about valentines day...

so, that lady in the cubicle next to you who just got a dozen roses from a secret admirer?

yeah. not.so.much.

Teachers will receive the most Valentine's Day cards,
followed by children, mothers, wives, sweethearts and pets.  
good. teachers need valentines. IMO they are one of the most under-appreciated professions out there... right next to stay at home moms and retail managers. ;)

The 2nd most popular day of the year to start a diet is Feb 15th.
too much chocolate, anyone?
