My First Mother's Day!

We celebrated Mother's Day this weekend...
my first 'outside baby' Mother's Day since the hubs did make last years day special too.

There were flowers, and cards, and redbull and home made breakfast. Phone calls, and texts, and picture messages. Hugs, snuggles, and quite a few tears. It was a way more emotional day than I imagined it would be.

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day...that your family told you how much they love and adore you, and how much they appreciate all the hard work you do. Being a mom is tough, but it is amazing and wonderful all at the same time. It is the best job I have ever had, the most rewarding, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! I am so blessed to have this little man, and so thankful that he made me a mommy!

Happy Mother's Day!

sweet sleep

Golden slumbers kiss your eyes,
Smiles await you when you rise.
Sleep, sweet baby,
Do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.

Cares you know not,
Therefore sleep,
While over you a watch I'll keep.
Sleep,
sweet baby,
Do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.

I wish I could bottle the smell of this sleeping baby... when I open the door to his room to check on him, my heart almost bursts. The smell of your own baby... ugh, it is the sweetest most perfect scent. The smell of that same baby's dirty diaper, not.so.much.

Sometimes I just sit at the edge of his crib while he's sleeping and watch him. That is WAY more important at that moment than anything else I need to be doing. Tell me I will always feel this way... I never want my Durham obsession to end.

TWO Teeth

teething is not my friend.
makes for a sad, in pain baby, especially around 5pm.
poor little turtle, I just wanna make it all go away.

On the bright side, look at these mini Chiclet teeth!

5 months

The past five months have just blinked by...

I feel like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital with the cutest little itty-bitty and then I blinked and now I have a babbling, rolling, grabbing, bouncing baby. I love all of the new milestones he has reached this month, but I hate that it means he is growing up.

This is what FIVE MONTHS looks like:

^^omg, I am so dead.

Whoo-hoo!!

After several weeks of teething, we have some exciting news!
(well, exciting to us, haha)

It's a sharp little tooth, right on the bottom, looks like there will be another right beside it soon. I tried to take a picture, but it's not big enough yet. So bittersweet. I don't want him to be growing up... I want him to stay my little baby forever and ever...
