my first day back

 

I knew today was coming, I've been thinking about it and preparing for it for a few weeks now. Today is the day I went back to work. I know that many moms do not get the opportunity to stay at home for 12 weeks of maternity leave, and many don't have family close by that are willing to keep their baby while they work. That is why I chose to have a thankful attitude today. I did cry the entire drive to work, but once I got there and got distracted by customers and products I did OK. I only called to check on him a few times, and the day went by quickly. Once I got home I caught up with the hubs talking about his day and my day, and then snuck in Durham's room and scooped him out of his crib and we snuggled. It was the sweetest snuggles I've ever had.

Mardi Gras 2012

bff's family is from NOLA and every year for mardi gras/her husbands birthday they head down to celebrate. what does that mean to me? AUTHENTIC KING CAKE and BEADS! :)

she spoils us!

I may or may not have started eating it in the car while waiting in the verizon wireless parking lot while they worked on my phone. which the said they fixed but, alas, it is not. BOOOO!!

looking back...

 my little baby will be 12 weeks old next week...

I can not believe how much he is growing and really coming into his own personality.

He is such a joy and we have more love for him than our hearts can hold.

I was gonna pick a few pictures to share, but kinda got carried away. a grandma's dream.

 

 

crescent roll palooza!

I'm not sure what possessed me to make nothing but crescent rolls for my husband for dinner, but I did, and he loved it! I found all of these ideas on pinterest. I could lie and say that we had a side of salad or some kind of vegetable... but, nope. we had carb overload.

pizza crescents: 4 slices of peperoni, half a string cheese, rolled up in half of a crescent.

meatball slider crescents: thawed frozen meatball, spoon of spaghetti sauce, and 1/4 piece of cheese, rolled up in half a crescent.

desert crescents: spoon of nutella, a few chocolate chips, and a few marshmallows, rolled up in a crescent.

it is extra sweet if you have a cute little helper.

This year I have two valentines...

Today is Valentines Day! My first valentines day with two sweet boys. (well, three if you count Cole-nugget... man, I am really out numbered here!) I feel so blessed. A caring, loving, supportive, hard working husband, and a healthy, snugly, delicious little baby. Our life is not perfect, but it is ours, and I would not have it any other way.

It is rare that I get overly sappy these days, unfortunately that is a negative side effect of my ppd meds. Not paralyzingly sad, but not overly joyful either.

But, not today.

because today is Valentines Day! 

what better way to celebrate tonight than with hamburgers on the grill, sweet potato fries, home made desert, and some snuggles on the couch while I force my valentines to watch two of my favorite shows, dance moms and teen mom! Does not get any better than this people!
