I am now addicted to Pinterest.

Pinterest is basically a virtual pinboard. Or that ratty old notebook that you keep all your torn out magazine pages in. It's a place where you can create collections of things you love and "follow" collections created by people that you practically share a brain with.... or you just like the same stuff.

It's super easy to use (and no, this is not a sponsored post, I just freaking love this site) and is going to be such a time saver as I'm "pinning" things I want to blog about later and then I can easily find the original source to credit.

Celebrating

One of my favorite things that we do on my side of the family is our monthly dinners...

each month we switch off (usually between our house and my brothers house) and have dinner/game night and just catch up. Since all three of us live within 45 minutes of each other you would think we get to see each other all the time but unfortunately we sometimes bounce from visit to visit.

Things are so CRAZY busy for the hubs right now. I feel so very bad for him... a full time job, a part time business, and in school for his masters... I am so thankful that he could even get away from school work this weekend to join us! 2 more weeks and this stressful project will be over, and a few weeks after that and he'll be out of school for the summer. I.can't.wait.

This month, since we were celebrating my birthday, mom offered to host us at her house. We had an amazing dinner and she made me the most beautiful (and delicious) cake I've ever seen!! Lemon Cake and lemon butter cream are my absolute fave. 

Mom, you sure know how to make the birthday girl feel special!

The weather this weekend was beautiful and we ate on their back porch... 

we have GOT to get a big table for our back yard this year. I love eating outside!

Full Moon Tonight

Tonights full moon is gorgeous!

Astronomers say that this is the first time in almost 20 years that the moon has been this close to earth... making it look about 30% larger than normal. Even though I'm not feeling very good I had to take the opportunity to capture this... I'll be almost 50 before it happens again!! cough.cough.dad.cough.

Blog Day of Silence for Japan

I know that having a blogging day of silence doesn't help Japan, but I also know that it brings awareness and hopefully prayers to this devastated country. We are praying for you Japan.

Dear 28,

I've gotten some super sweet birthday wishes today thanks to bestie posting this tear-jerker on her blog.

She is so amazing and always makes special occasions so.... well, special.

I spent the majority of the day with her and my favorite baby/big boy just tooling around Atlanta.

We ate at Yeah Burger, and visited Goodwill, Paper Source, and some other cutie-pie shops.

Ate cake and opened presents, played with puzzles and talked.

Felt like a pretty great start to my 29th year.

Tonight is dinner with the hubs, tomorrow dinner with my parents, bro & sil, then celebrating sweet baby/big boy Aiden's 2nd birthday on Saturday and a special night out. It is going to be a great birthday weekend and gorgeous weather too!

Even with all this amazingness around me, I have to admit, I've been really struggling with turning 29. It is so.much.closer.to.30.than.28 and feels so much more like why.dont.we.have.a.kid.already than 28 did. Deep down inside I know that 29 is going to be fine and I just need to get over myself.

Dear year 28,

I freakin' loved you. You were such an amazing year. Because of you I am a stronger, more loving, more confident woman. You helped me to become a better wife, a better friend, a better daughter and just a better person all around. I am so thankful for all the lessons I have learned and all the amazing experiences you have given me.

Please tell 29 to be good to me. To keep me happy, healthy, and so very much in love. Tell 29 that I'm sorry if I'm rude at first... I just need to get to know her better, that I'm scared and I'm needy.

I miss you already...
